YWCA Regina Community Programs is looking for female-identifying individuals to deliver GirlSpace programming in Regina Public and Regina Catholic elementary schools. GirlSpace is an 8-week in-school program for girls in grades 6-8 that aims to address key social issues facing young women. The programming offers girls the opportunity to increase their awareness of topics such as violence and its root causes, while exploring identity, personal achievements, and building positive self-esteem.
Facilitators will lead weekly sessions that involve participatory and hands-on activities such as creative expression, group discussion, and physical activities
Facilitators will build a safe, inclusive, and supportive space for girls to learn, connect, and build trusting relationships
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to act as positive role model who can provide developmental and emotional guidance to children
High standard of professionalism and regard for confidentiality
Experience working with children and youth
Indigenous cultural awareness and an ability to work in a multicultural setting
Class 5 drivers license, and access to a vehicle is an asset
