The Living Skies Housing Authority provides support to the Saskatchewan Housing Authority Network. This support is achieved by knowledgeable and experienced staff in the areas of administration, finance, management, and technical services. The Technical Services division provides property, program, technical, and operational services within the provincial housing network.
The Technical Services division is currently hiring for a Housing Inspector based in the Prince Albert office. If you're interested and experienced in understanding structural, architectural, mechanical, and electric building systems, we'd love to hear from you!
What you'll do:
- conduct building inspections; identify hazardous substances, and coordinate their mitigation
- coordinate the building repair process and conduct building analysis
- use your in depth knowledge of the legislation and regulations that pertain to building standards to ensure regulatory compliance of our housing authorities, and tenant health & safety
- participate in project cost administration, cost estimating, contract document preparation, specification compiling, and the tendering process
- remain current in new and emerging construction technologies, energy conservation, and environmental programs and procedures as they relate to housing
What we're looking for:
- someone knowledgeable in construction and product standards, specifications, residential, and commercial building practices and principles
What you'll need:
- Architectural Technology or Civil Engineering Technology diploma
- Several years project management and building construction experience
- Strong analytical skills relating to building sciences
