Support Staff are responsible to provide support and monitor residents along with ensuring the security of the building.
Residents are monitored for curfew adherence, special conditions, and appropriate behaviors. Client interactions will also include problem solving and being a positive role model. Proper documentation of changes in personal routine, behaviours and sobriety concerns. Handwriting must be legible and documentation factual/ observation based. Some light cooking and housekeeping may apply on some shifts.
Ideal candidate must be mature and able to work unsupervised or with little supervision. Skills in problem solving and conflict management are a must. Applicants must express confidence, dedication, and contributing in a positive manner over the long term. Applicants will need to be organized and MUST able to multitask and prioritize. Dependability, reliability and solid work ethic are important.
Must be able to pass federal security clearance which is done through the CRF. Cost will be reimbursed for the successful candidate.
Working a rotating shift, as we are a 24hr facility, including stat holidays is an expectation.
Availability on short notice is a strong asset. Hours available will depend on sick calls and vacation time. Potential to turn into guaranteed hours.
Persons with related education, experience and the desire to work in the field of corrections, social services, law, or security are encouraged to apply. This is an excellent entry level position to a career in a related field.
