The Prevention Support Aide under the supervision of the Community Based Program Manager will assist the Prevention Service Worker in providing a holistic approach to the wellness of the child, the family, and the community that is based on a First Nation understanding of Laws and Principles to provide support to families and community members. This position will be located on the Cote First Nation.
QUALIFICATIONS: Diploma in the area of Human Services/Administration OR Certificate in the area of Human Services/Administration (12) months of experience OR Relevant training and a minimum of 2 years of experience working in the Member First Nation Community. SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to engage with First Nations programs and services. Ability to take concepts and articulate them through written plans and documents. Ability to work with and support the Child and Family Services Authorities. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Working knowledge of Cree, Nakota, Lakota, Dakota and Saulteaux Cultures and generally the objectives of the YTCCFS Inc. member First Nations. Possess a valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle. Must be willing to upgrade skills when time and funding permits. Must be willing to work evenings and weekends. Must be able to sign an Oath of Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement.
