The English as a Second Language (ESL) Instructor position reports directly to the Literacy Facilitator. The instructor will plan, organize and implement an instructional program of English for settlement, academic or work purposes for learners whose first language is not English. The position will also be responsible for the informal evaluation of learners including on-going progress assessment and short and long-term instructional planning. This position is located out of Drake, Saskatchewan.
Education
- Bachelor of Education, English, or Adult Education degree
- Completion of a CERTESL certificate or equivalent
Experience
- ESL/EAL teaching and/or knowledge of different cultures or overseas experience will be considered assets
- Training or experience in adult education is considered an asset
- Experience working with Stage 1 learners, including learners, including those who may have low literacy skills in their first language.
- Knowledge of Portfolio Based Language Assessment (PBLA) approach
