Job Summary:
The SRP (Supportive Residential Program) Manager assesses, plans, provides, and directs care and treatment for residents according to their full scope of practice. The SRP Manager (Nurse) supervises and schedules departmental staff. The range of residents is normally 15 - 18. The client base is mental health/hard-to-house.
Assesses the resident and prepares/evaluates individual care plans;
Receives, interprets, and transcribes physicians orders
Administers medications and treatments according to professional standards
Maintains accurate documentation according to current levels of care for funding purposes.
Oversight of departmental staff, in concert with the Executive Director.
Assesses resident behaviours and physical status and reports any significant changes as required
Prompts residents for a range of activities such as, bathing, dressing, recreation, and socialization
Maintains medical records according to the professional standards of the licensing body in the respective province
Communicates with relieving staff through written and verbal report
Ensures all communications with residents are carried out in a sensitive and compassionate manner and adapts mode of communication to facilitate effective interaction in all activities.
Consults with physicians, families and other allied health care professionals to make arrangements for the residents; communicates and advocates with other departments and health care professionals (internal/external) within the residence regarding required care and/or services
