Limagrain Cereals Research Canada (LCRC) is seeking to fill a full time contract position based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The position will provide an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience and training with a leading Canadian plant breeding program. The successful candidate will assist in the daily research and product development activities of the cereal breeding program, including various field, greenhouse and seed processing activities.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

    Operate research equipment to plant, manage and harvest research field trials in an efficient manner
    Maintain, service, and repair field equipment, including small combines and threshers.  
    Ensure safe operations of equipment and safety of project personnel in accordance with company, provincial and government guidelines.
    Process seed using lab based scales, cleaners and threshers
    Assist with greenhouse projects, such as crossing and plant husbandry

Key attributes of the desired candidate:

    Previous Agricultural experience is preferred.
    A fast learner with a high aptitude for precision and accuracy
    Highly motivated to work in both team orientated and individual work situations
    Possess a valid drivers license with good driving record; Class 5 with G endorsement preferred but not essential
    Ability to work away from Saskatoon, including weekends
    Ability to work extended hours under variable environmental and ergonomic conditions associated with managing remote field research trials located across the Prairies
