Description

POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Camecos corporate safety, health, environment, quality and regulatory relations department (SHEQ) provides vital support in the successful operation of Camecos business. In this role you will be part of a team of professionals focused on environmental risk assessments, regulatory compliance and licensing, and continual improvement initiatives. You will also be involved in supporting remediation activities in northern Saskatchewan.

You will deliver support to Cameco by providing subject matter expertise in the review of environmental monitoring program results and designs, and to the operations in obtaining, amending and renewing federal and provincial licenses and permits.  In addition, you will routinely work in concert with the sites to manage specific projects and/or issues related to site environmental monitoring programs and environmental effects monitoring programs. Occasional travel to Northern Saskatchewan is required.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements of the position:
    Bachelors degree environmental sciences
    Three or more years of applicable work experience in the area of environmental sciences and regulatory compliance
    Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
Assets:
    Experience in the mining or nuclear industries
