LIFEGUARD

The City of Prince Albert is currently accepting applications for the casual position of Lifeguard in the Community Services Department.
There will be a variety of shifts available at both the Frank J Dunn and Kinsmen Water Park facilities throughout the spring and summer.
Shifts may include days, early mornings, evenings, weekends and split shifts (up to 40 hours per week). All scheduling will be based on seniority, availability and certifications/training.
Your rate of pay will be dependent on your certification level (i.e. to be a Lifeguard II you must have LSI).
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for proper safety procedures, and in cases of emergency, performing basic first aid, water rescues and other lifeguarding skills and techniques as required.
Supervise the activities of the patrons using the facility, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Prepare lesson plans and programs.
Attends to all inquiries through personal, telephone, and written communication.
Cooperatively participate in enforcing swimming pool rules and regulations as outlined by City of Prince Albert and the Saskatchewan Public Health Act. Follows Frank J Dunn (FJD) Swimming Pool & Kinsmen Water Park (KWP) Safety Plan.
Required Qualifications:
Lifeguard I Qualifications: Lifesaving National Lifeguard, Standard First Aid/CPR-C/AED, WHMIS
Lifeguard II Qualifications: Lifesaving National Lifeguard, Lifesaving Instructor and/or Lifesaving SWIM Instructor, Standard First Aid/CPR C/AED, WHMIS
A recent criminal record check, including Vulnerable Sector Search is required prior to commencing employment.
