The City of Weyburn is offering an opportunity to work in the Public Works and Parks/Fleet Maintenance Department as a Journeyman Mechanic. As we continue to grow and prosper as a community, we seek a motivated and innovative employee to join our team!
Responsibilities:
- Conduct and maintain regular maintenance schedules and records;
- Responsible for all City of Weyburn equipment and vehicle inspections;
- Report all mechanical issues to Supervisor and Safety Coordinator;
- Responsible for ensuring all equipment and vehicles are deemed road safe;
- Must be able to work independently and on a weekend on call rotation; and
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possess a Journeyman certification in Mechanics;
- Minimum three (3) to five (5) years experience with all aspects of equipment repair;
- Demonstrated experience with the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment such as road graders, back hoes, frontend loaders, diesel trucks and light to medium duty vehicles; and
- Possess a valid Class 5 drivers license with preference given to those with a Class 1 A or 3 A.
