The KidsFirst Program offers intensive parenting and early childhood support for vulnerable families with children prenatal to 3 years of age. The Home Visitor engages in a strength based, family centered approach to promote healthy parenting practices. This position is located out of our Aboriginal Headstart Office.
The KidsFirst Home Visitor works under the direction of the Executive Director of Aboriginal Headstart, KidsFirst Home Visiting Supervisors, and the KidsFirst Program Manager. The Home Visitor meets families in their homes to strengthen positive parenting practices and parent/child interactions.
Extensive training is offered inclusive of, but not limited to: Growing Great Kids Curriculum, Attachment Theory, Addictions, and Trauma Informed Practice. Knowledge, skills and experience in these areas would be an asset:

Indigenous ancestry and language are desirable. A criminal record check, including vulnerable sector search, clean drivers abstract, valid driver's license, and reliable working vehicle are required. Must be able to work flexible hours. The job requires the individual to have the ability to do heavy work including transferring program materials up to thirty pounds, climbing stairs, maneuvering through obstacles during home visits and any other potential and environmental challenges related to this role.
