The Town of Pense is accepting applications for a temporary full-time public works employee. Applicants must possess a minimum Grade 12 education, a valid class 3 drivers license and powered mobile equipment certification (or be willing to obtain).
The salary will be contingent upon experience and qualifications.
The public works employee will be responsible for but not limited to:
Plan supervise and co-ordinate daily municipal operations and projects
Provide leadership and direction to all public works staff
Maintain daily logs and equipment service records
Operate municipal equipment as needed. Such as grader, back hoe, tractor and snowblower, mowers, street sweeper
Perform duties as requested and or assigned by Administration
Ensure shop and yard are maintained in a neat and orderly fashion
Coordinate all projects, including work with contractors
Maintenance and minor repairs of equipment
Operate water treatment and distribution system and wastewater system.
Preference will be given to applicants who are able to operate heavy equipment such as a back hoe loader, grader, etc.
The ideal applicant will have knowledge and experience in water and wastewater, road maintenance, drainage systems and landscaping. The applicant should also possess excellent communication, public relations and time management skills and have the ability to work both independently and as a part of a team.
