Description

Reporting to the Manager, Operations & Maintenance, an employee in this job will provide engineering technology services either for an entire project or for phases of projects, related to the investigation, design, construction, maintenance and operation of water management projects.

JOB DUTIES:    
35%    Coordinate and supervise contractors during the construction of water management infrastructure of varying size and complexity; assist with contract preparation and administration; assist with design drawings and engineering calculations, both in the field and office.

35%    Inspect, assess and maintain various types of water management infrastructure (earthen, concrete, steel, timber and combinations of). Provide inspection services and technical reports with recommendations internally for WSA infrastructure and externally on behalf of WSA.

20%    Operate water management infrastructure, implement site specific safe work procedures for internal staff and contractors, instruct regional staff on operations and identify & report problems to the Manager and/or designated Senior Project Supervisor.
    
5%            Coordinate preliminary, construction and post construction surveys ensuring data is accurate and complete and surveys are undertaken in accordance with established procedures and practices.

5%            Advise and guide staff in engineering technology methods and techniques, specific to assigned projects or phases of projects while on-site or in the field; and undertake other technical duties as assigned.
