The City of Weyburn is offering students the opportunity to come and work at the Water Treatment Plant under our certified operators to gain knowledge and experience about Weyburns water. If you are an enthusiastic team player looking to work hands-on in the day to day tasks of the Water Treatment Plant, then we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular testing of the water to ensure quality and safety of the water is maintained;
- Measure and calculate chemical feed rates;
- Fill and maintain chemical feed system;
- Perform tests and record test results required for day to day operations of the Water Treatment Plant;
- Clean and maintain equipment at the Water Treatment Plant facility;
- Maintain accurate records to ensure that regulation standards are being followed;
- Maintenance of plants, reservoirs, booster station and intake; and
- Some physical work will be required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Grade 12 Diploma with knowledge of chemistry or water science;
- Well organized and able to prioritize tasks;
- Team player with excellent communication and customer service skills; and
- Emulate a positive attitude in a team work environment.
Additional Information:
- Job Status: Full time (seasonal)
- Term: Approx. 16 weeks. Starting in May 2019.
- Wage: Starting wage will commensurate with CUPE Local 90 agreement.
