Job Description: As a member of the system the EMT -P (ACP) reports to the Facility Manager for their Collaborative Emergency Center (CEC).  The EMT-P (ACP) will deliver Emergency Medical Services with strict adherence to the Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations where applicable, Saskatchewan College of Paramedics Treatment Protocols and Former Cypress Health Region policies, procedures and protocols.

The EMT-P (ACP) will function as a part of the CEC Team for the effective delivery of emergency and facility based services.  The EMT-P (ACP) will partner with the Registered Nurse (RN) in the CEC providing assessment and treatment of ill or injured persons presenting to the CEC.  The EMT-P (ACP) will assist with the care of acute care patients and/or long term care residents in the facility as required.

The EMT-P (ACP) is accountable to the public and the Former Cypress Health Region for his/her own practice.  The EMT-P (ACP) is responsible for ensuring that practice meets legislative requirements and the practice standards of the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCOP). The EMT-P (ACP) is guided by their level of education, expertise, experience, demonstrated skill level, Former Cypress Health Region policies and job description.


Required Qualifications

Valid Class 4 drivers license
CPR/AED Provider Certification
CMA accredited Pre-Hospital Care Program at the Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP/EMT-P) level
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at the ACP/EMT-P level
Experience
In healthcare is an asset
In Emergency planning is considered an asset
Instructors Certificates also an asset
