Job Responsibilities include:
Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems. Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balance of books, maintain general ledgers and prepare financial statements, calculate and prepare payroll. Complete and submit tax remittance forms, workers' compensation forms, pension contribution forms and other government documents. Manage accounts receivable/accounts payable and prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: A college diploma in accounting or bookkeeping is preferred, but at least 2 years of verifiable experience working for a Canadian company and proven skills could substitute for education.
Specific Skills:
Proficiency using Quickbooks is a prerequisite ensure accuracy and compliance to accounting/bookkeeping standards, procedures and internal control. Working knowledge of other bookkeeping/accounting software an asset. Ability to read and write English as well as to understand complex verbal and written instructions in English.
