Menno Industries - Waldheim team is seeking Direct Support Professionals (Industrial setting) with a strong desire to teach and model life skills while promoting personal choice and encourage independence for the people we support in Menno Industries.
The successful candidate will:
Demonstrate commitment to the consistent application of protocols, personal plans and behaviour support plans. Possess exceptional communication skills with the ability to build rapport and liaise with individuals supported. Demonstrate an ability to foster positive relationships Willing to engage in a variety of Community Activities, Possess skills in using tools time management, advocacy and resilience.Be a team player, and participate in creating and achieving team objectives.
This setting requires flexibility with programming and changing needs, and as such, candidates will be expected to show initiative, while supporting individuals with their daily routines. This can be a physically demanding environment that may involve frequent lifting, bending, turning, twisting & kneeling
Requirements: Woodworking skills/experience an asset; Loader forklift and equipment operator experience an asset; Current First Aid/CPR; Valid Class 5 drivers license; Computer literacy
