Job Description: Responsible for the acquisition, preparation, checking and distribution of medications/
pharmaceutical products and supplies to Nursing Units, facilities and other communitybased
health care services.
Required Qualifications
Pharmacy Technician certificate
Licensed with the Saskatchewan College of Pharmacy Professionals
Experience
Previous: No previous experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Interpersonal skills
Valid drivers license, where required by the job
Organizational skills
Intermediate computer skills
Communication skills
Ability to work independently
The Special Services Pharmacy works with Physicians both locally and throughout the province to obtain and dispense products supplied through Health Canada's Special Access Program. The pharmacy is also involved in overseeing the Pharmacy processes involved in Clinical Trials being undertaken throughout the region. This involvement includes development of Pharmacy processes and trial product preparation. Education and continued updating on Clinical Trial standards and requirements will be necessary. Previous experience with SAP would be preferred.
