Under the direction of the Director of Resident Care, assists Care-Aides in meeting resident needs through activities of daily living including physical, spiritual, and emotional needs. As a Care Aide Assistant, you are responsible for assisting residents with bathing, showering, grooming, and other personal hygiene tasks. You will also engage residents in activities like reading, talking, and playing games.
Education:
Grade 12 or equivalent
Personal Care Worker Course (Must obtain within 3 months of employment)
Basic First Aid/CPR (required)
Experience:
1 year working directly with aging adults.
Key Activities:
Stock resident rooms with personal care supplies and equipment.
Organize supplies in designated areas.
Notify Director of Resident Care of any issues with equipment or problems in resident rooms.
Bath residents according to schedule.
Assist residents with bathing as required.
Provide assistance with grooming (e.g. hair, dressing, undressing)
Assists with oral care (teeth, dentures, etc.)
Assists with mobility and/or transfers.
