Duties and responsibilities:
- Develops and coordinates individualized work experience placements including workplace tours and job shadows.
- Initiates, builds and maintains positive relationships with business owners, human resource professionals, union leaders/representatives, and hiring managers in order to present clients as potential employees.
- Promotes to employers the benefits of job coaching, job carving, and job accommodations and where appropriate identifies specific client support strategies that will encourage a smooth entry into an employers workplace.
- Provides client-specific information and education to employers and their staff regarding disabilities and/or strategies to overcome barriers to employment.
- Provides on-site support of work experiences to ensure they are beneficial to each clients growth and development of work skills and behaviours.  This includes job coaching and transportation training, among others.
- Initiates and maintains positive communications with clients team members, referring agents, and other supports.
- Monitors and documents client progress during work experience placements, including skill attainment and goal achievement, and negotiates employment opportunities where appropriate.
- Facilitates co-worker relations and encourage natural supports in the clients workplace to promote independence from staff supports.
- Works effectively as part of a team.

Qualifications:
- Relevant post-secondary education in Human Services or Business and two years related experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of issues pertaining to training and employment that people with disabilities may encounter.
- Coaching skills, empowering people to become independent.
- Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence and vehicle.
