Reporting to the Town Administrator, the purpose of the position of Office Assistant is to provide administrative and clerical services for the municipality.
Responsibilities Include:
- Provide support to Administrator;
- Provide prompt and excellent customer service;
- Handle cash and complete bank deposits;
- Type, file; issue permits and receipts;
- Maintain records for community cemetery;
- Book community hall and ensure hall agreements are signed; Prepare invoices for hall bookings;
- Assist with tax billings, assessments and water billing such as sorting and preparing for mailing;
- Maintain confidential records and files;
- Research and assist with the preparation of motions, policies and procedures;
- Assist with preparation of council meetings.
A high level of confidentiality is required in this position.
The following qualifications are considered an asset:
- Grade 12; experience in office administration and bookkeeping procedures; computer skills including the ability to operate spreadsheet and word processing programs; problem solving; decision making; effective verbal listening and written communications.
