Environmental Scientist
As a Project Scientist you will be 60% field and 40% office based. Specifically, primary duties will relate to front-end project management, pre-disturbance environmental assessments and environmental monitoring. You will report directly to the Manager of Planning and Development and have the support of the entire Buffalo Head team.
Key duties include, but are not limited to:
Working on a large volume of time sensitive projects while ensuring client needs and budgets are met;
Liaising with key stake holders including clients, land owners, service providers, governing agencies and senior project personnel;
Conducting environmental field assessments, including targeted species surveys
Monitoring construction activities on sensitive lands;
Preparing formal reports and approval submissions;
Other duties as required.
The successful candidate will have:
A degree or technical diploma in biology, environmental science, agriculture, geology, geography or other related discipline;
Experience in the environmental field is an asset;
1-2 years of experience;
Knowledge of Saskatchewan oil and gas sector;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Ability to meet tight deadlines;
Strong time management and organizational skills;
Experience with pre-disturbance desktop screenings; and,
Valid Class 5 drivers license with clean abstract.
