This position is working with children in our Supportive Living home in Regina. 1. One (1) Permanent Full Time One on One DW starting Sept 1st.Hours of work include split shifts during school days 6-9am and 4-8pm and working every second weekend.
2. One (1) Permanent Full Time One on One DW night line. Hours of work are on a 2 week rotating schedule. Shifts are 11pm-9am on school days and 9pm-9am on weekends and PD days. Scheduled every second weekend.
The role of Developmental Worker is to care for children with diverse physical and mental needs. A Developmental Worker assists in the delivery of programming to meet the growth and developmental needs of children with complex medical needs.
Qualifications, Skills & Abilities
Completion of (at least) one of the following:
1. Education Assistant Program
2. Rehabilitation Worker Program
3. Recreational Therapist Program
4. Kinesiology Degree- Adaptive Physical Activity
5. ECE Certificate
Or possess relevant and applicable education with special needs (minimum 1 year experience)
-Demonstration of strong interpersonal skills
-Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent organizational skills
-Ability to work as a team player and
accountability in independent decision making
-Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with different behavioral and physical disorders
-Physical ability to maneuver equipment required by children (lifts, wheelchairs, standing frames, etc)and perform and safely work with objects or persons of varying sized
-Preference will be shown to those with the
following:
-Ventilator experience/training
-Mandt System training
-Transfer, lifting, and reposition training
-Sign Language training
-Learning Language and Loving it Training
