Description

The Indigenous Education Department at the First Nations University of Canada invites applications for a three (3) term position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. This position will be located at FNUnivs Regina or Prince Albert campus and may include teaching off campus for the Universitys Community Based Program courses. Candidates who have a strong Indigenous knowledge base, knowledge of a First Nations or other Indigenous language and experience in field education are encouraged to apply.

Duties and Qualifications
Indigenous Education offers a Master of Indigenous Education Program, a four year elementary and secondary BEd Indigenous education program and an elementary and secondary BEd after degree (BEAD) Indigenous education program, through the cooperation of the Faculty of Education, University of Regina and the First Nations University of Canada. The Indigenous Education programs have been adapted to include First Nation content, process and other unique features pertinent to Indigenous education.
Applicants with a PhD in Education are preferred, while applicants with a PhD in a related field and who possess a background degree in Education will also be considered.
If you have experience in field education, specifically with First Nations Education, and in Indigenous Educational Professional Studies and are a PhD candidates or possess a MEd and five years teaching experience you are encouraged to apply. All applicants must be eligible for certification. Ability to speak an Indigenous language is an asset.
