Viterra is seeking a Senior Grain Inspector. The successful candidate will be responsible for grading grain samples to ensure that the grain is purchased at the correct grade in conformity with the Canadian Grain Commission and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Assesses quality specifications in parallel with end use customer processes.
Selects or submits malting barley or other grains to maltsters, exporters or mills.
Verifies or re-inspects, Canadian Grain Commission grades and dockage assessed on the company cars and trucks at unload.
Knowledge and Skills:
A proven ability to grade all grains, oilseeds, and specialty crops with a minimum amount of supervision.
An understanding of the Canadian Grain Act and Regulations.
Excellent computer skills in a windows environment.
Excellent customer service skills.
Teamwork and co-operation with demonstrated team leadership skills
Proven oral, written, and listening communication skills.
Education and Qualifications:
Minimum of three (3) years of work experience at the Grain Inspector 3 level.
Grade 12 or equivalent.
Must be a certified Grain Inspector to qualify for this position (equivalent to CGC PPI-3 or Viterra Level 3).
Equivalent combinations of education and experience that result in the required level of knowledge skill and competence will be considered.
