Meadow Lake Mechanical Pulp Inc. is the world's first successful zero-effluent-discharge market pulp mill that is a state-of-the-art, chlorine-free bleached chemi-thermo mechanical pulp (BCTMP) facility. We offer a safe, dynamic work environment and an attractive wage and benefit package; Meadow Lake is a non-unionized mill.

The Welder works to maintain and fabricate site equipment so that the mill operates in an efficient & safe mechanical condition.

Responsibilities:
- Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment
- Welding according to pre-set parameters using MIG, ARC and TIG welding processes
- Read and understand production drawings, blueprints & work orders
- Assist in the development of repair estimates
- Conduct technical inspections, repairs, modifications and retrofits
- Monitor parts usage and report on any material issues
- Plan maintenance in conjunction with Supply Chain and Operations personnel
- Troubleshoot with other mill personnel
- Understand and follow all safe work practices and procedures & maintains a high level of housekeeping standards
- Provide mechanical support if required for Industrial Mechanics

Qualifications:
- Completion of Journeyperson Welder; B Pressure and TIG tickets are considered an asset
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and temperatures
- Manual dexterity and the ability to remain standing, crouching or bending for long periods of time

There is an expectation of providing overtime and night shifts as required to meet emergency mill needs and for scheduled mill outages.
