Sask Central Victim Services (SCVS) is a not-for-profit organization committed to helping victims of crime and traumatic events through Support, Information, Referral and Advocacy.
The Assistant Coordinator is responsible for providing these four core pillars of service:
Support: Perform needs assessments, provide short term support, meet immediate and basic needs for safety and shelter and provide court preparation and support.
Information: Provide updates on police files and court proceedings, provide information on Victim Services and community programming, assist with completing Victim Impact Statements and more.
Referral: Determine client needs and refer to appropriate community agencies and/or Victim Services Programs.
Advocacy: Advocate with police, social services, prosecutions, mental health, justice, courts, etc.

Collaborate with community partners
Ability to work under pressure
Keep Up-to-date Records
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and week-ends as required
Must be willing to travel and have valid Drivers Licence
Maintain a high level of Confidentiality and Integrity
Educate the public regarding victim services and maintain a positive program image in the community
Be available for on-call duties as required
Provide direction and support to volunteers
Be willing and able to attend Training Workshops
*Must sign Oath of Confidentiality and Code of Ethics
*All potential staff must meet the RCMP Reliability Security Clearance and building access criteria
The Assistant Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the development and management of the day-to-day operations of the Victim Services program in the Sask Central region.
Training will be provided if/when necessary and opportunities for self-growth and career development is encouraged and supported.
