The South Central Regional Immigration Partnership (SCRIP)Coordinator will be responsible for bringing together various participants from a broad range of municipal and community groups and disciplines, connects with the community, and encourages participation from a variety of stakeholders in the welcoming and integration of newcomers' to the community.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
-creating a diverse partnership council and immigrant advisory table
-facilitating cooperation between various community stakeholders
-facilitate regular meetings to stimulate innovative and collaborative action among stakeholders
-initiate research and evaluation for best practices and suggest project ideas to enhance newcomers' community integration
-recruit and train volunteers to assist with program development and implementation
-facilitate implementation of project activities and encourage a cultural shift to aid the South Central Region in becoming a more welcome and inclusive region
-build capacity within the communities to attract, retain, and welcome newcomers
-facilitate strategic planning with the partnership council
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in community development or non-profit management (combination of related and experience will also be considered)
-Exemplary organizational and project management skills
-Proven skills in developing and implementing media materials
-Keen understanding of diversity issues and experience working in a multicultural setting
-Proven track record of working with multiple stakeholders to catalyze collaboration
-Effective communication and public speaking skills
-Bilingual (English/French) would be considered a definite asset
