STOPS to Violence is accepting applications for an 8 week summer position. This position will involve assisting with general communications and promotion for STOPS to Violence, researching opportunities for improving awareness of STOPS to Violence and providing administrative support to the Kids Matter childrens prevention education program.
To be eligible for this position, you must:
be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
have been registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year;
intend to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year;
be a student in a secondary, post-secondary, vocational or technical program;
be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act* and;
be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations
Skills and Experience should demonstrate:
Personal and professional values consistent with STOPS to Violence.
Attention to detail.
Strong written communication skills.
Ability to use email, Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team.
Well-developed time management and the ability to work independently.
A high degree of initiative, self-motivation, and integrity.
