Treaty Six Education Council is accepting applications for a full time Treaty, Language and Culture (TLC) Coordinator. Duties will commence on August 20, 2018. To be considered, all applications must include a current criminal record check with vulnerable sector search
The Treaty, Language, and Culture (TLC) Coordinator is responsible to:
- work with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, TLC Catalyst, teachers and other school staff of member Nations
- work as a team in overseeing the TSEC TLC Support Program for 10 TSEC Schools
- manage the budget, as well as complete the required reports
- work with all levels of authority and stakeholders of all member schools to develop TLC programming and curriculum
- provide TLC support; including responsibilities in spearheading or assisting in teacher supervision, team teaching, peer mentoring and Curriculum development and UbD planning
- do monthly and Quarterly reports
- must be computer literate
- assist in Cree Language assessments
- must have Treaty training or willing to take the training during the summer
- knowledge in Land Based Learning
- must have strong Cultural background
- monitor Cultural Year Plan with Catalyst
- provide regular meetings and professional development for the TLC teachers from each of the member schools
- provide other services as directed by the Director of Education
