Cando Rail Services is seeking an experienced Locomotive Mechanic/Electrician to repair and service locomotives and trackmobiles at various locations in the Regina area. Primary responsibilities will include troubleshooting issues, making repairs, and taking responsibility for all locomotive inspections and preventative maintenance processes.
Top candidates will possess a minimum of five years experience working on locomotives. Along with attention to safety practices, the successful candidate will require strong problem solving skills, developed communication skills, basic writing and computer skills, and a passion to continually learn about locomotive mechanical and electrical components.
The incumbent must have the ability to hold and maintain a valid drivers license, complete the safety and rail certifications, possess a clear criminal record check, participate in drug & alcohol testing, and hold safety sensitive medical status. The ability to work in all types of weather conditions and work away from the home base for extended periods of time is required.
This is a full time, permanent position. The Locomotive Mechanic/Electrician will generally work five days a week, 8 hours per day with the expectation they will be available to assist for emergency breakdowns outside of the weekly hours.
