Banff Constructors Ltd. has an exciting opportunity for Journeyman & Apprentice Carpenters to join our team!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build forms for concrete (gang walls, soffit slabs)
- Working from blueprints instructions from supervisors does layout-measuring, marking and arranging of various construction materials
- Cut, shape and join
- Check accuracy of work and make adjustments as required
- Read blueprints for work planning
- Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level
- Act as a work leader and mentor to apprentice carpenters
- Inform immediate supervisor of abnormalities or defects and/or takes appropriate measure
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a certified Journeyman Carpenter or registered Apprentice Carpenter
- Have valid Fall Protection and Confined Space certificates
- Have a minimum of 3 years concrete experience
- Experience with vertical/wall pours and gang forms is an asset
- Experience with transit and total station is an asset
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Knowledge of basic math and metric measurements
- Knowledge of the various woods used in the trade and other construction materials used
- Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of hand and power tools
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures applicable to the construction industry
- Participate on a team and demonstrate good interpersonal skills
