Reporting to the Transportation Manager, this position is responsible to manage, coordinate and ensure contracted drivers are in compliance with all safety and Sysco policy standards.
Role Responsibilities:
Provide superior customer service. Communicating clearly through various media to all customers internal and external.
Perform personnel duties including hiring and termination of contracted drivers. Communicate and administer Company programs, policies and procedures. Hold regular meetings as required.
Coordinate training and orientation for new contracted drivers.
Track cartage agents? performance and personnel files. Follow through with disciplinary action as required. Maintain current safety records and administer audits as required.
Work closely with the Transportation Manager providing recommendations on delivery performance and providing regular transportation data by calling and analyzing reports on a daily, weekly, or periodic basis.
Visit internal and external customers identifying delivery concerns and provide solutions.
Responsible for the safety, maintenance and licensing of Sysco trailers. Coordinate repairs and rentals.
Monitor all delivery issues such as short-on-truck, damaged-on-truck and scanning rates.
Resolve customer service and delivery issues in conjunction with sales management.
Complete special projects and other duties as required.
