Kova Engineering (Saskatchewan) Ltd is a diverse and unique engineering and consulting company in the crane and lift equipment industry. We are looking for an Inspector to join our Regina team. This is an entry level position.
Our Inspectors use non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as visual and magnetic particle testing. Typical job duties include:
- Performing NDT examinations on in-service cranes, lifting equipment, and structures for cracks, fatigue, signs of corrosion, or other defects and interpreting examination findings in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and procedures.
- Preparing organized reports detailing examination findings and repair procedures in the field using a tablet device.
- Assisting engineers by reporting project information from job sites including sketching, measuring and recording dimensions, and photographing equipment or structures.
- Working outdoors year round.
- Travel to job sites in central and northern Saskatchewan and Manitoba requiring overnight stays.
- Regularly working at heights and occasionally in confined spaces.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 or GED
- Satisfactory near vision acuity and colour vision
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work with computers
- Committed to working safely
Preference will be given to applicants demonstrating one or more of the following:
- Experience working on industrial or construction sites
- Knowledge of welding symbols and processes
- Mechanical experience with cranes or lifting equipment
The successful applicant will be expected to complete additional training and exams to obtain NDT certifications.
