Description

The Yorkton Tribal Council is seeking 1 motivated individual for the full time term position of Mental Health Therapist.The Mental Health Therapist provides individual and group support at the community level to YTC members.
Duties:
Assess, screen, prioritize and provide treatment to YTC member communities
Provide consultation/coordination of treatment plans
Consult with the manager of adult community services and child and youth services of mental health services regarding the mental health needs of the First Nations population.
Focus on all mental health related issues (family violence, addictions, treatment and healing)
Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor of Social Work, and specialized training in counseling and addictions or an equivalent combination of experience and training.  
Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in managing counseling and/or addictions programs supported by the knowledge and understanding of First Nations language, culture, traditions and social issues.
Must be willing to travel/possess a valid drivers license and maintain during employment/ reliable vehicle,must submit a current Criminal Record Check.
Work irregular or extended hours when needed Manage a number of people/priorities/projects at one time,may have to respond to emergency or crisis situations
The environment requires excellent organizational, time management and stress management skills
Must be aware of all YTC health and social development programming along with relevant legislation, policies and procedures

Preference will be given to those of Aboriginal ancestry under exemption E-96 of the Human Rights Code.
