The Securities Division of the Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority of Saskatchewan (The FCAA) is seeking an energetic and confident individual who is capable of working as a legal assistant in its Legal Branch. The FCAA is a government agency that administers The Securities Act, 1988. Its mandate includes protecting investors by regulating the sale of securities.
Under the supervision of the Deputy Director, you will provide a wide variety of secretarial and administrative duties to the Legal Branch which are integral to its operations. As the successful candidate, you can expect to be responsible for: the set-up and maintenance of files received from the Deputy Director and Legal Counsel, preparing and formatting a variety of correspondence, rulings, orders, and briefs of law and argument, posting documents to the FCAA website for the Securities Division, and data entry. You will also be expected to assist in organizing materials for hearings before FCAA hearing panels and Courts. This includes preparing exhibits, arranging for service of documents, and preparing affidavits of service. Excellent interpersonal skills are required to address questions on the status of applications, fees, and process.
Proficiency with applications such as Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat DC Professional are necessary for this position. Familiarity with SharePoint sites and data entry systems will also be beneficial in this role.
