Applications are invited for a tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor in the Department of Veterinary Microbiology. The position is available immediately.
The successful applicant must have a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree. A DVM or MD, postdoctoral research and teaching experience are highly desirable. The successful candidate is expected to develop an externally funded research program the following area:
Molecular microbiology - Application of molecular approaches to addressing fundamental questions in infectious disease microbiology including those related to pathogen biology, virulence mechanisms, pathogen discovery, and/or diagnostics.
The department conducts research and training in the area of infectious disease at the interface of animal, human and environmental health, united by an interest in addressing complex One Health issues at local, national and international levels. The department has a vibrant graduate studies program with approximately 30 M.Sc. and Ph.D. students actively engaged in research. The position also offers a comprehensive benefits package.
