Description

Fortis Mining and Engineering is currently seeking underground construction miners in varying levels of positions for various mine locations in Saskatchewan. These will be contract positions and involve shift work. Passing a Drug & Alcohol test is a condition of employment for these safety sensitive positions.
The Construction Miner is responsible for performing a variety of tasks within a wide range of projects including construction mining, development mining, conventional mining, mine rehabilitation and decommissioning. The tasks are varied and are subject to the type of mine site and the requirements of the specific project. The Construction Miner is required to adhere to company and mine site health and safety standards, always following safe work procedures. The Construction Miner reports directly to the Supervisor on the project.

The Miner must possess/demonstrate the following skill set:
* Mechanically inclined
* Manual dexterity required to use power and hand tools
* Physically fit and able to lift heavy loads
* Focus on quality and attention to detail
* Ability to follow instructions
* Ability to use judgement and apply discretion when making decisions
* Ability to work alone and in a team environment
* Strong time-management skills
* Ability to work shift work
* Possess a positive and professional attitude
