Express Employment Professionals is currently searching for temporary and full-time Legal Assistants who are responsible for a diverse range of legislative challenges, contract negotiations, and other legal documents. This individual must be able to work independently, with limited or no supervision at times. The ideal candidate must have very strong word processing skills. This role works internally with lawyers and other legal staff on a daily basis. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Job Description:
Answering and directing inbound phone calls
Scheduling and managing appointments
Managing office internal and outbound mail
Manage files and ensure office organization
Tracking motions, subpoenas, interviews, and legal proceedings
Preparing legal documents
Maintaining meeting minutes and transcribing handwritten/voice recording notes
Invoice processing and creation
General office equipment use
Computer based correspondence and office management
Fast-paced work environment with a variety of tasks.
Opportunity to work with several departments within the organization.
Requirements:
Candidates must have excellent English communication skills; both oral and written
Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Internet applications are required and will be tested at time of interview
A minimum of two years of experience as a legal secretary
Legal Secretary Diploma will be considered an asset
Good understanding of legal terminology
