About the Organization:
The Ythi Nn Lands and Resource Office works to promote and enhance the environmental, social, cultural and economic health and well-being of the Athabasca Basin Communities (being the Athabasca First Nations communities of Black Lake, Fond du Lac, Hatchet Lake, and the municipalities consisting of Stony Rapids, Wollaston Lake, Uranium City and Camsell Portage) and their residents.
Position Summary:
The Environmental Coordinator will be involved in environmental management, land use planning, regulatory, implementation of the Ythi Nn Collaboration Agreement, research activities and other duties as assigned. The Coordinator will be an integral member of a small and dynamic team at the Ythi Nn Land and Resource Office in Fond du Lac. The Coordinator will have strong technical and communication skills with an interest in working with the Athabasca Basin Communities in their traditional territory to advance and protect their Aboriginal and Treaty Rights. This individual will provide support to the Executive Director on achieving the goals of the organization and implementation of the Ythi Nn Collaboration Agreement.
This Coordinator will require extensive travel to the Athabasca Basin Communities and occasional fieldwork. Health and Safety will be a primary concern for the Coordinator to ensure that safe work practices are foremost.
Preference will be given to Athabasca Basin Community members.
Other candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered

This position will have a six-month probationary period.
