Co-op Refinery Complex
Regina, SK
The main focus of this position is to provide long term direction, leadership, and strong customer service to internal departments, to ensure the timely and cost-effective purchase of goods and services, logistics and facility management for the Co-op Refinery Complex (CRC).
Direct the overall operation of the CRC Purchasing function as well as contractor and supplier management, including the negotiation of agreements.
Lead the analysis and problem-solving of significant supply chain issues regarding contractors and suppliers.
Provide leadership and direction to the key functions of Purchasing, Stores, Facilities, spare parts inventory management, and Common Services.
Ensure appropriate purchasing, stores inventory and facilities policies, procedures and operational strategies are in place and operate effectively as well as adherence to legislative requirements.
Negotiate major agreements for goods and services rendered globally for the CRC.
Review purchasing requirements for projects with CRC operational departments and senior management to determine needs and ensure requirements are met on a timely and cost-effective basis.
Ensure contracts for goods and services are prepared, reviewed and approved in accordance with established policies and with input from legal counsel, where required.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in purchasing/stores positions, including a combination of logistics and supply chain management experience. A Bachelors Degree preferably in Business Administration/Commerce would be considered an asset to this positon. Work experience in the oil and gas industry or in an industrial environment is preferred. A Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation is required.
