Summer Student JobRestaurant servers are part of a team responsible for the general operation of the restaurant at Thompson's Camps Otter Lake Resort in Missinipe, SK.
This position's responsibilities include the overall cleanliness of the restaurant, preparing the dining room for meals, taking customer orders, preparing bills and processing payments, helping the kitchen staff with dishwashing, cleaning the dining room after customers have departed and balancing daily financial transactions. Restaurant servers must demonstrate exceptional professionalism, customer service and guest relations skills.
The position works 7 days per week from mid-May until the end of September. Accommodations may be made for students needing to return to school in the Fall. All accommodations and food are provided free of charge for the duration of the season.
Food and Beverage Serving Skills
- Advise on menu selections
- Serve food and beverages, general plate service
- Present bills to customers and accept payment in cash, credit or debit cards, travellers cheques or room billings
- Describe menu items including daily specials for customers
