The City of Melville invites applications from qualified persons for the position of Assistant Finance and Planning Manager for a temporary term of approximately one year. The estimated start date for this position is October 9, 2017.
Under the direction of the Director of Finance and the Director of Public Works and Planning Services, the Assistant Finance and Planning Manager will be responsible for tax/assessment roll preparation, assessment appeal process, tax enforcement, school liability statements, zoning bylaw, land sales and other duties in accordance with the City Administration Bylaw.
Qualifications:
A commerce/business or management degree or diploma with a major in accounting from a recognized university or post-secondary college or an equivalent combination of accounting experience within a Public Administration or Management field
3 5 years of municipal experience desired
Formal training in Local Government Administration, an asset
Familiarization with computerized municipal accounting systems (VADIM preferred)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must be bondable
Valid drivers license
Salary will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
