Will assist the SIMFC Community Programs Coordinator and the Childrens Summer Program supervisor in planning, organizing, and implementing the SIMFCs Childrens Summer Program. The main objectives will be to help organize, plan and deliver the program which will include cultural activities/crafts, daily sports, and recreational and educational activities to participants between the ages of 6-12. Responsibilities of this student will include assisting, planning, organizing and implementing of the Childrens Summer Program, weekly status reports of the program include taking statistics, and participating in other SIMFC functions including National Aboriginal day celebrations, FolkFest, Native Graduation Recognition Night, and fundraising events. Planning for the Childrens Summer Program will begin in May and be completed in June. The Childrens Summer Program will begin in July and run through the middle of August.
Job Description:
This is a 14 week position (35 hour work week, from beginning of June and ending August 31, 2017). The summer student worker will also assist in the planning and organizing of summer programs and camps for youth. The successful candidate will be required to work flex time.
Aboriginal candidate preferred please clearly self identify as either First Nations, Metis or Inuit.
Requirements for the applicant: the applicant will have to be a returning student, proof of enrollment required upon hiring.
