Job Description: Reporting to the Director of Workforce Planning and Staff Development, the Health Educator assists in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating clinical and non-clinical education programs. This position involves significant computer work, including in-depth literature searches, use of multiple media applications. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining staff education records, communicating with managers to validate required educational needs and competencies.
Required Qualifications

Valid drivers license or the ability to travel both within the Region and Provincially
Bachelor Degree in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Social Work, Nursing or Psychology or a related field
Registered or eligible for registration with the appropriate licensing body
A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered
Experience
Relevant experience which includes experience in health promotion and education
Experience working in a community setting with interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary teams and the public
Adult Education experience 3-5 years
Comprehensive knowledge of adult learning principles

Field Hours
Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement

Shifts consist of - 0800-1630
Home base to be determined - Multi-Site
Successful candidate to be selected based on combination of interview, skills, experience, and competency.
Preference given to candidates with Adult Education experience
