The Wellness Counselling Supervisor will work under the general guidance of the Executive Director and under the direct supervision of the Wellness Director on matters related to the development, implementation and day to day operations of the Wellness Counselling program.
The Wellness Counselling Supervisor will ensure effective and efficient delivery of programs in accordance with the goals and objectives of BRT6HC vision, mission and core values; ensure professional counselling standards are met, liaise with other BRT6HC service providers, mental health and addictions managers and supervisors of other health agencies to coordinate the delivery of Wellness Counselling services to ensure comprehensive services to BRT6HC community members.
Qualifications
* Eligible for registration with a professional counselling body such as SASW (Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers), CCPA (Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association)
* A combination of education and experience leading to sound knowledge and skill in mental health and addictions counselling, preferably with a Masters in Social Work, or related discipline.
* Previous education and experience in management and program supervision
* Previous work experience in First Nations communities
* Demonstrates an understanding of the health and social issues facing First Nations people
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Previous experience in coaching, mentoring, motivational and change management
* Previous experience and understanding of organizational strategic plans when planning wellness counselling plans.
* Ability to handle difficult or sensitive situations with empathy and diplomacy
* Results orientated to meet organizational needs
* Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills
