Description

The Outreach Worker is responsible the distribution of information to the client communities regarding the support services, resources and interventions available for youth at the White Buffalo Youth Treatment Centre.  
Outreach services will be targeted at risk youth or who are already leading at risk lifestyles. This involves introducing and interpreting program services to potential clients and performing tasks directly related to assisting the client community and program staff. Outreach is involved primarily with informing the client community of services available to them and may assist in the coordination and delivery of services to the community.
Outreach provides services for youth at risk with the purpose to encourage and support them to make choices that improve their quality of life.

QUALIFICATIONS
Certificate or Diploma in the field of social work, psychology, education, or human services AND three (3) years direct work experience
OR
Bachelors Degree in the field of social work, psychology, education, or human services AND one (1) year direct work experience
Non-violent crisis intervention certification
Valid Saskatchewan Drivers License
Ability to travel extensively to various communities including fly in populations.
Requires demonstrated knowledge of oral and written communication skills for report writing and incident/progress reports
Ability to use de-escalation skills with youth clients and seek assistance from Supervisor and/or other staff Knowledge of accepted and effective techniques for working with at risk youth with diverse family dynamics
Excellent communication skills, professional demeanor, sound judgment, and strong organizational skills
Ability to impact client retention through mentoring, motivation, and monitoring practices
Must provide a clear CPIC, vulnerable sector check and be alcohol and drug free
