We have an exciting opportunity for an individual who to join our team as a Sewing Production Technician.
Duties and responsibilities:
The Sewing Production Technician assists in the successful operation of the Sewing Department.
Duties include:
- Production of a variety of items ringette pants, seed bags, veterinary garments, etc.
- Operation of industrial sewing and cutting equipment
- Assist with pattern grading and lay-ups
- Participate in on-going inventory control
- Complete quality control checks on finished product
- Assist with packing and shipping, as required
- Strict adherence to Department/Agency safety standards
Qualifications:
Education:
- Grade 8
Experience:
- Minimum 12 months experience working with industrial sewing and cutting equipment
- Detailed knowledge of industrial sewing & garment construction
- Embroidery and/or upholstery experience is considered an asset
Skills:
- Working knowledge of manufacturing practices, and production processes
- Safe & efficient operation of industrial sewing and cutting equipment
- Able to understand and follow multi-step instructions
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective organization and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Physically fit able to lift 50 lbs. rolls of fabric
