Our client seeks someone to become THE expert/go-to-person for grain cleaning at their east-central Saskatchewan elevator. As part of your role, you would develop relationships with industry equipment suppliers; keeping current on trends in cleaning equipment. As you gain knowledge, you will be expected to make recommendations on capital improvements/upgrades.
To be considered, you:
- Understand how and have experience with the operation of grain cleaning equipment in an elevator
- Understand the flow of grain commodities, grading, and blending
- Are capable of performing minor maintenance
- Have 3 years (minimum) experience in grain elevator operations or an equivalent combination of relevant post-secondary education/experience
- Possess a 1A drivers' license (would be an asset)
- Have computer skills
- Are willing to reside within a reasonable commute to Marengo, SK
The Position:
Your experience and expertise is required to streamline operations at this inland grain elevator. You would be responsible to receive, clean, and ship grain, pulses, and oilseeds based on the associated grading. Your key responsibilities would include:
- Cleaning grain inventories to export and domestic specifications
- Optimize facility storage and segregation
- Assist unloading and loading grain trucks/rail cars
- Take samples
- Coordinate and cooperate with management and logistics staff for grain movement
- Ensure target capacities are met for throughput
- Maintain plant cleanliness
This position requires you to be able to work in a team environment. Other duties may be required to maintain an operational and successful grain handling/cleaning facility.
