** This is a work from home position so the location can be anywhere within SK, AB and MB**
II/ Duties
1. Attend meetings with other Crop Commissions to arrange two Ag Conferences.
2. Attend meetings regarding sustainability initiatives and follow up with overview to the Executive Director and discuss with the board at board meetings and other times as needed. Individual must be a confident in speaking from a producers perspective and relaying decisions made by the board even when it varies from the majority.*
3. Admin help as needed
4. Attend four POGA board meetings as necessary (March/April, July, October/November, December coinciding with the AGM). These are typically one overnight stay and two nights stay for the AGM/Board meeting held the first Thursday of December each year.
Face-to-Face participation would also be requested at both Ag Conferences
III / Job Requirements (in no specific order):
Active in Farming ability to speak from a producers perspective
Education University degree or equivalent experience preferred
Organized and Detail focused with the ability to see the broader picture
event planning experience is preferred but not required
Ability to prioritize tasks is essential
Well-spoken with the ability to raise concerns to all levels of the value-chain from producer to retailer
Ability to work unsupervised from a home location meeting and exceeding deadlines with deliberate speed and accuracy.
Strong writing and computer skills
Ability to exercise good judgment in recognizing scope of authority and protecting confidential information is a must.
